Pediatric Dental Treatments (Pedodontics)

Just like permanent teeth, treatments and preventive procedures can be applied to primary (baby) teeth, which we use for eating and speaking at certain stages of our lives. Due to the adjustment period to the dental chair, the first examination should be done when the teeth begin to emerge (between 6 months and 1 year old). Routine check-ups when there are no issues in the mouth help familiarize the child with the process and serve as preparation for potential treatment needs in the future.

In addition to fillings, root canal treatments, amputations, tooth cleaning, and polishing for primary teeth, preventive procedures such as fissure sealants, fluoride treatments, oral care and hygiene education, and guidance on dietary habits are also applied to permanent molars.

Nowadays, in cases where multiple procedures are required or when the child has difficulty complying with the treatment, all procedures can be completed in a single session under general anesthesia in a hospital setting.
